Most people facing cancer are focused on survival, on getting through each day, each appointment, each moment.

Sammi chose something different, she chose to carry others with her.

In the middle of her own treatment, when life could have understandably narrowed to just getting by, she created Simple Smile, a mission built on compassion, empathy, and the quiet understanding of what patients really need, not just medicine, but comfort, connection, and hope.

Because she knows how it feels.

She knows the long days, the uncertainty, the loneliness that can creep in when the world keeps moving and you’re stuck fighting the hardest battle of your life. And instead of turning inward, she’s turned outward, determined to make that experience softer for someone else.

So she walks, not just a few miles, but over 1,200 of them, step after step, driven by purpose. She bakes, she organises, she brings people together, she gives her energy, her time, and her heart, all to raise funds that go directly back into cancer units.

Those funds become “smile packs”, small, thoughtful gestures that land in the hands of patients at their lowest moments, reminding them that someone, somewhere, is thinking of them.

That they are not alone.

And perhaps most powerfully, Sammi is doing all of this while still fighting her own battle.
